South Australia’s EV Charging Network – proposals

Home / Electric vehicles / South Australia’s EV Charging Network – proposals
Proposals have been sought from prospective charge point operators to develop a section or sections of the South Australia’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Network.

Applications for funding closed on 30 August 2021 and an evaluation process is currently underway.

The Department for Energy and Mining may request further information and seek clarifications with Applicants to inform the grant funding decisions.

It is anticipated that unsuccessful Applicants will be advised by December 2021.

The South Australian Government is investing up to $13.4 million to leverage approximately $25 million of private investment in the statewide charging network.

South Australia’s EV Charging Network will address key barriers to uptake – driving range and road trip anxiety – and demonstrate to car manufacturers that South Australia is an ‘EV ready’ market.

The Department for Energy and Mining sought proposals in the following priority areas:
• Rapid destination and highway charging
• Fast fleet CBD car park and fast hotel, motel and holiday park accommodation charging
