RenewablesSA works with agencies across government and the renewable energy sector to collect up-to-date information and resources to help support your decision to invest in South Australia.
If you’re looking for a suitable site for your project, you may wish to start by examining low-resolution maps that show land, climate and utility characteristics such as water quality, rainfall, soil capability and gas, power and water pipelines. These maps can be obtained from Primary Industries and Regions SA.
The South Australian Government also makes available up-to-date spatial data in geographic information system (GIS) format that indicates detail such as property boundaries, infrastructure services (electricity, road and rail), land elevation, local council boundaries, planning zones, natural resources and public land.
Other data that could affect your site decision – such as the location of threatened fauna and flora, historical land contamination, native title, and Aboriginal and European heritage sites – is also captured in Enviro Data SA, which is maintained by the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources.
